QUENCH Programme

23rd QUENCH Workshop 2017

23rd Quench Workshop, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Campus North

17 - 19 October 2017

As usual, recent experimental and modeling results on reflood, high-temperature materials oxidation and interactions as well as related problems were presented and discussed. Results of the last QUENCH bundle experiments were given. One session deals with modeling and code applications to integral QUENCH tests.  Especially results on high-temperature oxidation and Accident Tolerant Fuel (ATF) claddings were discussed.
Contributions on materials interactions during LOCA and the early phase of severe accidents in nuclear reactors including spent fuel pools as well on the coolability of the core were presented.

The IAEA provided financial support to the workshop, which was used by the organizers for granting eligible participants.
