The 23rd Quench Workshop will take place during 17 - 19 October 2017 at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Campus North.
As usual, recent experimental and modeling results on reflood, high-temperature materials oxidation and interactions as well as related problems will be presented and discussed. Results of the last QUENCH bundle experiments will be given. One session will deal with modeling and code applications to integral QUENCH tests. We specially encourage to present recent results on high-temperature oxidation and Accident Tolerant Fuel (ATF) claddings.
Generally, contributions on materials interactions during LOCA and the early phase of severe accidents in nuclear reactors including spent fuel pools as well on the coolability of the core will be welcome.
The IAEA provides financial support to the workshop, which will be used by the organizers for granting eligible participants. A limited number of grants for participants from developing countries with an accepted oral presentation will be offered. The application form should be signed by the Head (Director) of the organization and appropriately stamped. The grant application form is available here. Please download, fill out and send it together with an abstract of your planned presentation to the organizer (martin.steinbrueck∂kit.edu) before 30 June 2017.
